Summary

Copy-paste-ready social posts for the Wheels 4.0 pre-announce. Three posts (one per release doc) × four channels (#wheels-dev Slack, LinkedIn, X, GitHub Discussions) = 12 variants.

Each channel's variant is tuned to its norms:

  • Slack — mrkdwn (*bold*, <url|text>), 5–8 lines, internal tone.
  • LinkedIn — 150–250 word paragraphs with hashtags at end.
  • X — 280-char hero plus optional 2–3 tweet thread.
  • GitHub Discussions — long-form markdown with an open-ended question at the end.

Framing: all variants say "coming" / "approaching GA" — swap to present tense on release day (noted in the file header). Uses absolute GitHub URLs for docs/releases/ files since those are not published on GitBook.

Sibling to the existing blog-skeletons/ artifacts from #2132 — release-comms, not a published doc page.

Test plan

  • File renders correctly on GitHub.
  • All URLs resolve.
  • Post phrasing matches Wheels' no-emoji / understated voice.
  • Pre-post checklist at bottom of file is actionable on release day.

Copy-paste-ready posts for #wheels-dev Slack, LinkedIn, X, and GitHub
Discussions. Three posts (one per release doc — parity / full audit /
3.0 → 4.0 comparison) × four channels = 12 variants, each tuned to
the channel's norms:

- Slack uses mrkdwn (*bold*, <url|text>), 5–8 lines, internal tone.
- LinkedIn uses 150–250 word paragraphs with hashtags at end.
- X provides a 280-char hero plus optional 2–3 tweet thread.
- GitHub Discussions is long-form markdown with an open-ended question
at the end to invite replies.

All variants frame 4.0 as "coming" / "approaching GA" — swap to
present tense on release day (noted in the file header). Uses
absolute GitHub URLs for docs/releases/ files since those are not on
GitBook.

Sibling to the existing blog-skeletons/ artifacts — release-comms,
not a published doc page.

Hero tweet stands alone (unnumbered); replies are prefixed 1/, 2/, 3/
without a total denominator. Applies to all three X variants and a
new note in the file header documenting the convention so future
edits stay consistent.
