π Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a π emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! π¨ Severity: MEDIUM
π‘ Vulnerability: Log Injection (CRLF) in the exception handler of the
__main__block. The exception message fromipaddress.ip_addresscontains the original untrusted input. If an attacker passes a string with newline characters (\n), they can inject arbitrary logs or forge log entries.π― Impact: An attacker could forge log entries to hide malicious activity or trick log parsing systems.
π§ Fix: Wrapped
str(e)inrepr()inside thelogging.errorcall to safely escape newline characters and securely log the error without evaluating control characters.β Verification: Verified by throwing a mocked
ValueErrorcontaining a payload like"127.0.0.1\nERROR:System Compromised". Usingrepr(str(e))safely outputs the newline as\ninstead of creating a new log line. Verified tests continue to pass.PR created automatically by Jules for task 8841046149287603773 started by @ManupaKDU
