I’m an engineering leader with a hands-on background. Most of my experience comes from scaling teams, modernising old systems, and dealing with the consequences when decisions don’t age well.
I still build things to stay honest about the trade-offs. I’m not interested in hype. I’m interested in what holds up.
- Systems that work under real pressure
- Developer experience and cognitive load
- Long-term technical and organisational decisions
- Practical use of AI and automation, without all the hype
I write at Real World Engineering about engineering leadership, system failures, and the long tail of technical choices.
