I just implemented lightGallery to my website. You can see it here on my post.
I added this because I was having difficulty with getting medium zoom to work on mobile and I also needed to allow users to zoom in further. I just followed the implementation of medium zoom by overriding blowfish's layout partials.

I'm also using the image shortcode from FixIt which is also uses DoIt's image partial plugin for handling image resources (They are both using MIT Licenses). This also supports remote caching and optimization.
To avoid conflicts, imageZoom needs to be disabled since both of them would open at the same time
I haven't tested this with Blowfish's gallery shortcode yet but it would probably not work since it needs the lightgallery class to be selected and I think it needs medium zoom to be enabled.
Sorry I'm not an expert in theme design and I was just tinkering around.
