Domoticz 2026.1 with latest changes

Thanks for the feedback! The recent CSS rewrite (PR #168) replaced the old fixed 3-column Bootstrap layout with a responsive CSS Grid system that adapts to different screen sizes — from mobile up to ultrawide monitors.

The current breakpoints step from 1 to 5 columns as the screen gets wider, and on larger screens this can make the cards feel too compact.

We also added automatic text wrapping on device card titles and big text values. Previously, long text would overflow beneath other elements and become unreadable — now it breaks cleanly within the card. This does make cards appear more crowded when they're narrow, which may be contributing to what you're seeing.

We're thinking about an approach that moves away from fixed breakpoints entirely: using CSS auto-fill so the browser automatically calculates how many columns fit based on a configurable card width. We'd add Card Min Width and Card Max Width settings to the existing Theme Settings panel (Settings → Theme → Dashboard), so you can dial in the layout that works best for your screen.

With sensible defaults (e.g. min 300px, max 500px), most users should get a good layout out of the box — and anyone who prefers fewer, wider cards could simply increase the minimum width in the theme settings.

That said, there's been a staggering amount of upstream changes to the Domoticz frontend recently, and things are still shifting. We may hold off on implementing this until upstream settles down a bit, so we're not chasing a moving target. We'll keep this issue open to track it.

Hi, I'm having a different problem after updating Domoticz to 2026.1, and I didn't want to create a separate issue.

The dashboard in compact mode looks like this:

In normal mode it looks OK.

The second problem is that the camera row sometimes displays twice (refreshing the page usually helps)

You might be on a newer version of the DO'omoticz code base. I fixed a lot if things on the beta I was on but have not upgraded since, because I dont have the time currently to spend another week fixing the rest 😄
