I have been experiencing an issue in ILS over the past few days/weeks when entering amounts in Purchase orders in back office.
Whenever I input a value, it automatically changes to a different number if I scroll down while the cursor is still active in the field.
To better illustrate the problem, I recorded my screen (see attached).
The issue appears to affect all numeric fields: Order total, Order total (main currency), Debit amount, Debit amount (main currency), Price per unit, and Total price.
For now, I seem to be the only one encountering this bug. It occurs consistently on both of my devices (MacBook Air and Pro).
Explanations from Karolina:
This is not exactly a bug - the field is supporting changing the value by using scroll - this happens when you scroll while having the mouse cursor over the field. It is a standard behaviour for these fields. I am not sure if you are already aware of this - if you are filling these forms in bulk, you can use the keyboard to navigate between fields (tab key and arrows to select values), which will not be activating the scroll behaviours and usually, it is much faster to fill the form.
Reply from me:
Even if this behavior is technically standard for this type of field, I should say that I have never encountered it elsewhere, especially at CERN (for example in EDH or LN). What also adds to the confusion is that it doesn’t seem to affect everyone in the same way: some colleagues do not experience the value changing on scroll at all. From a user perspective, this inconsistency makes it quite error‑prone. Is there any possibility to disable the scroll‑to‑change behavior for these fields?
I am aware of using tab and arrow keys, but in my case I often need to jump quickly between fields that are not adjacent. Using the mouse is then much faster for me, and the scroll behavior makes this more difficult rather than more efficient.
